THE RED CROWN SIGNAL CHAIN
RED CROWN is built as a complete guitar processor rather than a collection of disconnected effects. Shape the pickup response, push the BC108 stage, drive the British amp section, place the EQ where it works best, choose the speaker character and open the result into stereo.
RED CROWN's BC108 stage is a dedicated nonlinear transistor model, designed to drive the amp rather than act as a simple level boost. Treble delivers the classic focused BC108 response, Linear uses the more neutral voicing, while Red Special Morph adds a dedicated input-morphing stage before the BC108 core for a distinctly different pickup-to-booster interaction.
The AC30SIM core is the heart of RED CROWN's British amp response, with Drive controlling how hard the nonlinear amplifier stages are hit rather than simply adding output gain. Its power-stage behaviour includes level-dependent crossover characteristics, so pick attack and signal level influence the harmonic texture and feel instead of producing a fixed distortion curve.
The four-band EQ can be inserted PRE BOOSTER, PRE AC30 or POST AC30 — so it can shape what drives a nonlinear stage or simply contour the finished amp tone. A 120 Hz low shelf, selectable 250/500/1000 Hz low mids, selectable 750/1500/3000 Hz high mids and a broad 700 Hz high shelf all run at Q 0.7 with ±12 dB range.
Output Stage Age / Crossover Distortion changes the behaviour around the hand-over between the two sides of the simulated push-pull output stage. It is level-dependent rather than a separate distortion effect: stronger settings can make the crossover region more audible and generate additional harmonics, with the result interacting directly with Drive, playing level and the selected speaker.
The speaker section uses embedded 2048-sample, 48 kHz impulse responses processed by convolution, preserving the spectral and time-domain character of the captured speaker responses. The IRs are level-calibrated to the Blue / Cap Edge reference, and speaker changes are prepared in a second convolution bank and crossfaded for a smooth transition instead of a hard switch.
RED CROWN is designed as a stereo processor from input to output, allowing the amp-and-speaker chain to become part of a finished stereo guitar sound rather than stopping at a mono cabinet stage. Spatial Stereo adds complementary stereo processing after the core tone chain to create width while keeping the RED CROWN amp character at the centre of the sound.

SIGNAL FLOW
